Here's the thing about RWDY gear: it was built so you wouldn't have to baby it. Every bracelet in the lineup is engineered to handle salt water, chlorine, sand, sunscreen, sweat, and the kind of neglect that comes with actually living your life.
That said, a little maintenance goes a long way. Not because our bracelets need it. Because gear that's taken care of lasts longer than gear that's taken for granted. And we built these to last.
The Five-Second Rinse
After a day in the ocean or the pool, run your bracelet under fresh water for a few seconds. That's it. You're rinsing off salt crystals and chlorine residue before they have a chance to build up.
Salt is abrasive on a microscopic level. Leave it on any surface long enough and it starts to do work. A quick rinse neutralizes that. Think of it like rinsing sand off your feet before you get in the truck. Takes no time and saves you a headache later.
This applies to every bracelet in the
collection. Silicone, nylon, stone, metal. Fresh water is the universal reset.
Cleaning by Material
Different materials need slightly different approaches. Here's the breakdown by what's on your wrist.
Silicone Rope (Classic, Spartan, AeroLite, Stellar, Faithful, Driftwood)
Silicone is the easiest material to maintain on the planet. Warm water and a drop of mild soap. Rub gently with your fingers. Rinse. Done.
For stubborn buildup (sunscreen residue, salt crust), let it soak for five minutes in warm soapy water. Everything loosens up and wipes right off. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, and abrasive scrubbers. Silicone doesn't need that kind of aggression.
Stainless Steel Hardware (All bracelets)
Marine-grade stainless steel resists corrosion by design. But if you notice any dullness or water spots, a soft cloth with a tiny bit of white vinegar brings back the shine. Wipe it down, dry it off, move on with your day.
Never use abrasive pads or steel wool on the hardware. You'll scratch the finish, and scratched steel is a lot harder to love than dull steel.
Braided Nylon (Islander, Scented Islander)
Nylon dries fast and resists mildew, but if your braided bracelet starts to pick up an odor (it happens after weeks of continuous wear), soak it in warm water with a tablespoon of baking soda for thirty minutes. Rinse, air dry, good as new.
Natural Stone Beads (Islander, Scented Islander)
Black Onyx, Obsidian, and Lava Stone are hard and durable. Clean them with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking stone beads in chemical cleaners. The stones can handle water, but their pores can absorb chemicals that change the finish over time.
For the Scented Islander: re-apply a drop of essential oil to the Lava Stone beads whenever the scent fades. The porous surface absorbs and diffuses naturally.
Wood Accents (Driftwood)
The hand-finished wooden bead on the Driftwood is sealed for water resistance, but wood is still organic. Rinse it after salt exposure and let it air dry. Over time, the wood develops a natural patina that deepens the character. That's not damage. That's the bracelet earning its story.
What to Avoid
Harsh chemicals. Bleach, acetone, rubbing alcohol, and industrial cleaners are overkill. Your bracelet doesn't need chemical warfare. Warm water and mild soap handle everything.
Extreme heat. Don't leave your bracelet on the dashboard in July. Silicone handles heat well, but prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures can affect the flexibility. Keep it on your wrist or out of the direct oven.
Abrasive surfaces. Scrubbing with rough pads or toothbrushes with stiff bristles can micro-scratch metal finishes. A soft cloth or your fingers do the job better.
Storage
If you're rotating bracelets or storing a few for the off-season, keep them in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. A dresser drawer works. So does the RWDY zipper bag that comes with the Islander sets.
Don't store bracelets in a tangled pile with other jewelry. Metal clasps can scratch each other, and chains can snag on rope. Give each piece its own space.
If you're traveling, toss them in your dopp kit or use a small pouch. These bracelets are built for the road, but a little organization keeps everything looking sharp when you arrive.
The Lifetime Guarantee
Here's the part you've been waiting for, and the reason this entire care guide might be unnecessary. Every RWDY bracelet comes with a lifetime guarantee. If something breaks, wears through, or fails in a way that shouldn't happen, we replace it. No fine print. No receipt digging. No hassle.
We built these bracelets to outlast the trip, the season, and the story you'll tell about both. But if something goes wrong, we've got your back.

The Short Version
Rinse it after the ocean. Wash it with soap when it needs it. Don't soak it in bleach. Store it like you respect it.
That's the whole care routine. Five minutes a week, max. And with the lifetime guarantee behind it, your bracelet is going to be around a lot longer than most of the things you own.
Wear it hard. Rinse it quick. Forget about it until tomorrow.
That's the RWDY way.
